Two great ideas for Ubuntu

The Brits at “OMG!UBUNTU!” have (supposedly) begun an “Ubuntu Newbie Guide” (although I haven’t seen any actual pages yet). I think it’s a great idea, and I wish there had been one in the Breezy Badger days (I think that was the first version I was messing around with).

The page announcing the “Newbie Guide” also refers to the “Ubuntu Beginners Manual“, which is apparently an official Canonical/Ubuntu project (the “Newbie Guide” is not; it’s a separate project of the “OMG!UBUNTU!” folks). The “Beginner’s Manual” is a document to be included with new installs. It’s ALSO a good idea, and it ALSO would have been welcome when I was first diddling about with Ubuntu.
